Mommy Bahama?

Being a mom is great! Pregnancy, breast-feeding, and watching a newborn become a real person in a short time is one of the most exciting gifts of life. The only problem is sometimes Mom’s body gets so stretched and altered that even diet and exercise can’t help. Those changes can diminish self-esteem and confidence. When dads wear Tommy Bahama tropical swim trunks, sometimes moms want to wear Mommy Bahama bathing suits, but may be too self-conscious to do so. Changes resulting from loss of tissue tone, such as loose tummy skin and empty or sagging breasts, won’t improve with exercise. That’s when cosmetic plastic surgery can be of help. “Mommy makeover” procedures can help get moms back to enjoying the tighter, firmer, better shaped body they remember.

Mommy makeover options are best discussed with a board-certified plastic surgeon to get the very best recommendation for a specific body type. Breast augmentation with implants, breast lift, liposuction, and tummy tucks are among the most frequent mommy makeover procedures. Others that are less talked about are no less important. Because the pelvic area undergoes significant stretching, sometimes vaginoplasty or labiaplasty are procedures that moms request.

If loss of volume in the breasts is the main concern, breast augmentation with either silicone or saline implants may help create a fuller, rounder shape. A breast lift looks great in women with good breast tissue tone, while women with loose breast tissue may benefit from a combination of implants plus a lift for the best result.

After the abdomen has been stretched for nine months, the “six pack” muscles can separate, and the skin can hang loosely. A tummy tuck (“abdominoplasty”) can tighten both the skin and muscles to give a better shape. Liposuction alone can help those lucky women whose tummy skin bounces back after pregnancy but who still have baby-bulges.

During a mommy makeover consultation, the surgeon can address a woman’s specific concerns so as to come up with the best procedure plan. Of course, both doctor and mom should place safety at the top of their priorities.

In our practice, we have performed hundreds of mommy makeovers, all of them individualized and customized to meet each mom’s specific concerns. We love seeing the joy moms experience after regaining their bodies with the help of mommy makeover cosmetic surgery!
